I grew up on my family's oyster farm in Westport, WA. I spent a lot of my time outside exploring the beaches, mudflats and forests around my childhood home which led me to foster a strong connection to the natural environment from a young age. My interest in environmental processes and affairs has carried over to my college education. I have focused my coursework around urban planning in regards to the built and natural environments; specifically, green space, sustainability, conservation, natural resource management, and mitigating the effects of global climate change. Additionally, I have been intentional in my course load to include hard skills like Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator) , Microsoft Excel, Arc GIS, Sketch Up, and Mail Chimp. By combining my passions and developing my practical abilities, I hope to pursue a career in the planning, I am particularly interested in the shoreline management or park planning sectors.
